Gask House and Cottages are in a spectacular setting in Strathnairn, a beautiful unspoilt glen within easy reach of Inverness. Previously a traditional stone and slate steading, the current owners have created a stunning conversion comprising a family home with 3 adjoining cottages set round a courtyard and in delightful garden grounds with lovely farmland and hill views.
The conversion has been completed to a very high standard with beautifully appointed accommodation, combining the traditional features of the steading with a contemporary layout and finish. To ensure comfort and privacy, high levels of insulation and sound proofing were incorporated in the renovation, while clever design features such as the glass wall in Corrimony Cottage and roof lights in the rooms fill the houses with natural light.
The main house comprises two sides of the courtyard and offers stunning family accommodation. The magnificent open plan, barn style sitting room and dining room with inglenook fireplace and doors to the garden and courtyard is a wonderful entertaining space, while the similarly designed kitchen and family room with four oven Aga and doors opening to the courtyard is ideal for day-to-day living. The bright and spacious first floor bedrooms are all en suite and the opportunity exists to incorporate the first floor of Tordarroch in to the main house to create further bedrooms.
Gask Farm Cottages is an established and successful holiday letting business with many repeat visitors attracted by the high standard of accommodation and ideal position from which to enjoy the Highlands. Corrimony and Clava Cottages have been created out of the north wing of the steading and Tordarroch lies adjacent to the main house. All are Visit Scotland 4 Star rated, each with beautifully presented, predominately open plan living accommodation. The cottages have a peaceful outlook over the courtyard and views up Strathnairn, with sheltered sitting areas in the courtyard and the opportunity to enjoy the grounds.
The IACS registered farmland at Gask House lies mainly to the south of the house and comprises well fenced grass fields providing livestock grazing and amenity. Within the grounds is a modern, box profile shed with livestock housing and an adjacent workshop/garage.
